MEX II Putrajaya – KLIA, Malaysia
Project Highlights
Proposed 18km expressway extension from MEX to KLIA.
Maju Expressway (MEX), operated by Maju Expressway Sdn Bhd (MESB) forms the vital link in the Kuala Lumpur Road master plan. More than just improving connectivity, MEX disperses traffic from the city towards various suburban areas through multiple entry and exit points at various interchanges and bridges. MEX Highway consists of approximately 9.5 km long of elevated viaducts for the mainline and provides an effective transportation system through the existing interchanges and bridges.
In view of the effective and vital role played by MEX Highway in the overall transportation system of the Kuala Lumpur City and the suburban areas, early and timely planned maintenance is essential in order to prolong the intended life of the highway structures.
This is consistent with the Lembaga Lebuhraya Malaysia’s (LLM) requirement that all highway structures are to be inspected and assessed annually by an independent professional body.
Straits has been engaged as consulting Engineer firm to provide consultancy services for independent assessment and inspection of existing highway structures and slopes along the MEX Highway.
Scope of Services
- Independent check consultant for technical (for LLM) and financial (for financier)
- Review of design compliance, construction progress and claims for financing draw downs
